Essential Features

  • Live Announcements
    • Answers a voice call directed at the predefined extension
    • An optional audio prompt is played back to the caller
    • A one-way audio path is opened to all predefined paging targets
    • The caller will hear a tone to begin their announcement
    • The caller will make an announcement and it will be heard through the predefined paging targets
    • The caller hangs up and all paging targets are disconnected
  • Recorded Announcements
    • Answers a voice call directed at the predefined extension
    • The caller is prompted to record an announcement
    • The caller enters ‘#’ or hangs up to end the recording
    • A one-way audio path is opened to all predefined paging targets
    • The recorded announcement will be heard through the predefined paging targets
    • Once the recording is complete, all paging targets are disconnected
  • Scheduled Announcements
    • A VerAnnounce administrator creates a scheduled announcement
      • The announcement can be schedule to occur at a predefined date and time
      • The announcement can reoccur on a predefined interval
      • The announcement can be an audio file or synthesized text-to-speech
    • At the defined time or interval, a one-way audio path is opened to all predefined paging targets
    • The scheduled announcement will be heard through the predefined paging targets
    • Once the announcement is complete, all paging targets are disconnected
  • Instant Message Announcements
    • Answers an IM directed at the predefined SIP Address
    • A confirmation IM is send back to the original sender
    • The original sender confirms the content of the IM
      • The sender must select the number of IM responders to accept
      • The sender may select none, all, or a specific number of responders
    • The IM is send to all predefined target SIP Addresses
      • The identity of the original sender can be masked or the IM can appear to originate from the original sender
    • IM target recipients may be able to respond to the IM
      • If responses are accepted, the recipient may respond to the IM
      • The original sender will receive the responses in the original IM window
      • If responses are not accepted, any responses will be rejected with an informational message
      • If a specific number of responders are accepted, any responses after the limit has been reached will be rejected with an informational message

 Additional Considerations

  • Includes a Windows PC client application that can automatically answer announcements
    • The client application can be configured to play the announcement through a specific audio device
    • The client application will automatically close the Lync conversation dialog window when the announcement is complete
  • Paging targets can include any combination of overhead PA/paging systems, Lync-enabled Windows PCs, Lync telephones, or any dialable telephone number
  • Can be configured to only accept announcements from predefined sources
  • Logs activity data that can be used to create reports
  • Announcement targets can be configured as any combination of the following:
    • SIP Address
    • Telephone/Extension Number
    • Exchange Distribution Group/List
